The RCGI Observatory for Standardization (RCGI-OS) is an interactive platform that highlights standardization on low
carbon solutions, alongside a set of metadata of a wide range of published and ongoing international standardization. These
are collected through comprehensive landscape and gap analyses reports across climate and technological fields relevant to
the low carbon solutions.
Each standard is analyzed across different categories simultaneously, enabling multi-dimensional insights into standardization
patterns, gaps, and opportunities in the sustainability and climate action domains. This classification system supports researchers,
policymakers, and standardization professionals in understanding how technical standards contribute to climate goals, sustainable
development objectives, and national climate commitments while considering the strategic context of standardization approaches,
technology development stages, and stakeholder involvement.
RCGI-OS was conceived and developed as a product from
RCGI Project 69.
RCGI-OS was designed so users can perform focused searches with structured classifications, keyword searches using their
own terminology, and advanced searches with a combination of structured classifications.
The first filter page is dedicated to free search by keyword. The following filter pages cover five structured classifications:
Low Carbon Solutions (LCS), Brazilian National Determined Contributions (NDC), RCGI Projects, ISO Technical Committees, and UN
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Finally, at the Repository page, users can perform an advanced search, which allows the database to be filtered using a
combination of the structured classifications from the previous filter pages.
